Course dates for the academic year 2007–08
Expectancy’s university-approved courses for midwives, health visitors, doctors, antenatal educators, doulas and complementary therapists on the use of complementary therapies in pregnancy and childbirth, focus specifically on safety, efficacy, evidence-based practice and professional accountability. Courses for midwives prepare them to use a range of complementary strategies in their practice, in accordance with UK Nursing and Midwifery Council guidelines, but do not provide a full qualification in specific therapies. Courses for complementary practitioners focus on applying pregnancy physiology to existing therapy expertise and prepare them to accompany women in labour.
