Anxious, worried or just have lots of unanswered questions? |
 |
|
Expectancy offers a bespoke Pregnancy Support Service to help you before and during
your pregnancy and after the birth of your baby, with information, advice and a “listening ear” for all those
normal but niggling little worries. Telephone consultations are available nationwide by appointment, and a home
visiting service is available in London and the southeast; both are offered either as a “one off” appointment
or as a package of care for the duration of your pregnancy and / or the first six weeks after your baby’s birth.
|
 |
|
Services offered: |
|
- Advice and support during your pregnancy, answers to questions & concerns
- Advice on safe use of complementary therapies and natural remedies in pregnancy
- Help with pregnancy-related sexual difficulties and resuming sex after the birth
- Information to help you prepare for delivery, focusing on facilitating natural childbirth
- Specialist “morning sickness” care incorporating natural remedies
- Specialist advice and complementary treatment if your baby is breech (bottom first)
- Support and advice after your baby’s birth (up to 6 weeks)

Unfortunately, there is such a shortage of midwives in the NHS, especially in the London area, that opportunities
to talk to your local midwife may be limited and your antenatal appointments will, of necessity, focus on ensuring
that your baby is developing and growing normally and that you are coping well with the physical changes that occur.
Surveys have shown that many mums-to-be feel isolated and are unsure where to obtain the help they need to maintain
confidence in their innate abilities to give birth naturally and to cope with a new addition to the family.
Expectancy’s Pregnancy Support Service is not a replacement for your normal antenatal care
with your own midwives and doctor, but is intended to complement their physical care with individualised psychological
support, by providing comprehensive information and answers to your questions and any other issues which may be troubling
you, however trivial or embarrassing. Although the Pregnancy Support Service can help you to
prepare for the birth, regrettably it is not possible to provide support during your labour.

 |
|
The Pregnancy Support Service is provided by Expectancy’s Director, Denise Tiran, a midwife
with almost 30 years’ experience, who specialises in helping women with “morning sickness” and who is an international
authority on maternity complementary medicine. All consultations are strictly confidential but it is a legal requirement
to maintain professional records and occasionally it may be necessary to contact your NHS maternity care team. You will
therefore be asked to provide a full personal and medical history plus other details as may be relevant to your
particular circumstances.
